Ark Microfinance is an agricultural credit scheme that partners with financial institutions around Botswana to deliver loans and savings to people who want to embark on any agro-aligned business. Combining a robust network of local partners and staff, industry-leading expertise, and international philanthropic support, we leverage capital and provide resources to support those who want to go into agro-business. In addition, we provide training to clients, many of whom are accessing financial services for the first time.

Our Story

Founded as an agriculture finance division of the Farmers Pride International Botswana, the Ark provides microfinance credit scheme that aims to support Botswana's urban and rural farming community and build a 21st-century agricultural community that will be able to work on setting up sustainable food systems.

Our loans are given to groups of 6-10 people either going into enterprising or farming ventures in partnership with Ark Microfinance, we are doing this with the aim of building capacity for our investment partners as they start their journey into entrepreneurship, members are funded in groups of 6 to 10 people and start multi-million Pula businesses with the amount depending on the business venture they would have chosen on the schemes depending what our external donors will be happy to fund when they bring in their money.

For you to get a loan from the Ark you must have bought a scheme and paid for it for at least 6 months and then you qualify for our loans as a group. During the 6 month period, you will be going through training to equip yourself for business.
